Tatiana Plakhova

Striking and informative graphics with a splash of colour which is muted and offset, a clean, simple and effective style comes through with nice typography and subtle colours, I really like his work - it feels to me a little cold and angular but the colour really softens the tone.

Hee has produced some really nice stuff including (and especially the wallpaper designs on his portfolio website) strong colours and lines with small quirks and imperfections make for a really nice - if a little strong for a whole wall - designs.

ALBERTO SEVESO / {ILLUSTRATOR/GRAPHIC DESIGNER} ITALY

If you haven't heard of this guy then you should really look out for him, this guy produces some pretty amazing stuff, these are literally just two of the images that are pretty astonishing. Working in Italy he has developed a style which simply take the idea of colour and shape to that fine point where your not sure until your eyes fully focus exactly what your looking at.

Get his posters on your wall for the long nights out and morning afters which will simply take you till lunchtime to stop looking at them.

Having never studied at a formal design college Alberto has simply fallen in love with design and illustration taking inspiration from some of the great artists and applying it in a dynamic and fun way, he has developed a technique that will define him - many of us strive to achieve this and never find it - Alberto came across his - now famous - technique of "a me mi piace la gnocca!" - I'm going to leave to the Italian speakers among you to figure that out but it apparently began as a joke and developed from there!

Illustplosion - Bruno Fujii

Bruno Fujii is based in São Paulo - Brazil and has only just left University but his work is beautiful and exciting, producing watercolour images interposed with strong graphics he creates an evocative and striking image.

Bruno is just 22 and working as a Graphic Designer / Illustrator at (I believe Hello Brazil)
The Nuvo style contains lines which are smooth and flowing, I simply love his compositions. Here are just a few of his final university pieces - strong and clever - watch out for him in the future as he is one of the leading lights of the Brazilian graphic illustrators and designers coming our way in 2008/9.

I believe Bruno is currently working for Hello Interactive in São Paulo Brazil producing works for an international client base, Hopefully i will be able to keep you posted on this guy.

Feeding squirrels to the nuts

I was a young graphic designer fresh out of art college, wearing baggy jeans, surfing too much and not working too hard, I arrived at Swansea to study graphics (chosen only to be close to the sea... ). I was a staunch follower of David Carson and debated often about the whys and wherefores of deconstructivism's place in the new world of Graphic Design. On some of my many travels through reference books and new wave art i found this poster project being produced by the cactus network - some place i still have the packaging and posters but you can see the site and what it was all about here :

http://www.cactusnetworks.org.uk

It was something that made me think of posters in a different way - i see them more as a degradable link to our time - they look great when you put them on the wall the first time but they do break up - and show the scares of being viewed and moved.

The project 'feeding squirrels to the nuts' was an off shoot project by Tony Credland.

Contributors included work from Cyan (Berlin), Cloaca Maxima (Gent), Tat & Whimsey, Melisa Price, Cactus (London), Co-op design (Mainz), Coloured hard (New York), Ian Noble (Portsmouth) and Cactus (Munchen). With writing from Michele-Anne Dauppe and Teal Triggs. Ryan McGinness (NY),Grrr (Barcelona), Cactus (Munchen) Stamp (St Etienne), WD+RU, Karen Eliot, Graphic Thought Facility, Luther Blissett, Paul Anderson (London) Utopia (Paris), Marion Burbulla (Berlin).

With writing from: Teal Triggs and Cees Hamelink. Andrea Kreuse, Jurgen Albrecht, Marion Delhees, Achim Wieland, Ola Giza, Sarah Mansell, Daniel Borck, Tony Credland, Filipa Pais Rodrigues, Zeina Maasri, Glenn Orton, Peter Bilak, Daan van der Velden and Matthew Shadbolt With writing by Jan van Toorn, Paul Elliman, Andrew Blauvelt, Jean Fisher, Sylvie Toux, John Bird, Cees Hamelink, Teal Triggs, Paul Newson, and Micheal Rock.

In the Beginning

OK this is my first post and i think it ought to set out what i mean to do. Whether i manage it in the future is completely different - but we all have to start somewhere!

My main aim here is to find and list awesome posters for you walls - stuff you real can';t find anywhere else and things i really think you will find amazing and useful. There will be a website to run alongside this but i think i can do that later!

Anyway - Enjoy what i am about to post and if you find things you think you think others will like then contact me immediately!

Cheers
Doug
